Availity® Essentials Claim Status Tool Updates

Starting in November, claims status responses in the Availity Essentials Claim Status tool will include the options view explanation of benefits and remittance viewer for access to claim payment details. With these updates, you’ll experience a similar process with multiple payers when verifying real-time claim status for your patients.

These options will appear in the status response even if there is no claim payment. They may not be available if a claim is newly finalized or hasn’t been received, or if there isn’t enough data to locate it. If you’re unable to access either of these features, use the remittance viewer in the Availity Claims & Payments menu or the Provider Claim Summary application in our Payer Spaces.

These changes aren’t applicable to Blue Cross Medicare AdvantageSM claim responses.
